Holding onto anger is like “holding onto a lump of hot coal and wishing the other person burns”. We all have been hurt in some way by others, knowingly or unknowingly.
Sometimes it’s little things they have said or done, other experiences can be physical and painful. The important thing to remember is that it’s all in the past.
By holding onto the hurtful experiences you are restricting your growth spiritually. You are also damaging your body with negative emotions like anger, hate, rage and revenge.
These negative emotions will manifest as disease and pain in your body and re-enforce negative thought patterns in your subconscious mind.
You need to let go of the past and move on towards a life of happiness and joy. You can only do this by forgiving the people who have hurt you in the past.
You will be able to easily forgive minor hurtful experiences, major ones will require some time, but you must forgive these to move forward.
How To Forgive Someone
Visualize the person who has hurt you in the past in front of you. Experience the pain they have caused you. Once you are felling the negative emotions associated with the hurtful experience, start getting these emotions out of your mind and body by telling the person how they have hurt you.
You can swear at the and also hit them, get it all out of you. Do this for 5 to 10 minutes. Start taking in some deep breaths and on each out breath feel the negative emotions flow out of your body.
Continue releasing the negative emotions until you are in a neutral state. Now look at the person and say tom them “I forgive you”. Know in your mind that they cannot continue to hurt you anymore, you are letting go of the past.
Start feeling compassion towards the person that hurt you, know that you are powerful and you can choose your thoughts.
Erase the hurtful memory from your subconscious mind and replace it with a happy experience. Visualize yourself as the powerful soul you are in a body that is in a state of bliss. Nothing can hurt you unless you let it.
You can choose what you wish to think and feel about a past experience. It cannot hurt you anymore, you can choose the emotions you want to experience.
Do this for everyone that has hurt you in the past. If you still feel negative emotions associated with a certain person, you will need to do the visualization a few more time to let go of these emotions.
Why should you suffer for something that another person has done? You have the power to let go of the past and erase the negative emotions associated with the experience.
Create a happy and blissful life experience for yourself. Your thoughts do create your feelings, choose to feel good about yourself.
Negation thoughts create negative emotions and these in turn create more negative thoughts and emotions. Clear yourself of the negative thoughts and emotions by forgiving the people who have hurt you.
Start a spiral of positive thoughts and emotions and create a blissful life.
